Junior Designer of the Year Award Powered by DHL
Winning the prestigious Junior Designer of the Year Award, powered by DHL, is a remarkable celebration of creativity, purpose, and innovation. Designed by Grace Manadan, Aadya Boddanapalli, and Khushi Jani under the mentorship of educator Mrs. Gwen Dickson, Soaring Eagles captivated the international judges with its powerful message and exceptional craftsmanship. Inspired by Irish environmentalist Gordon D’Arcy’s Golden Eagle artwork, the sculpture symbolises strength, freedom, and resilience while shining a light on the challenges faced by women in India, the Philippines, and Indonesia. Crafted entirely from coconut husk and repurposed materials, the award-winning creation transformed discarded resources into a compelling statement of hope, equality, and sustainability. More than a triumph in design, this global recognition celebrates young changemakers whose vision demonstrates how creativity can inspire social impact, advance the principles of sustainable fashion, and contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 5 (Gender Equality), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production). This achievement reflects the limitless potential of young innovators to shape a more equitable and sustainable future.
